Do Validation Scripts work on SC/Wizard Variables, e.g., a Date time field?

I have date/time and date validation scripts. They work on forms, but not on variables. Is this true?
Thanks. -Bill Collins

I was finally able to put some time into this. Hopefully to help someone else here's the Catalog Client Script.

All you should have to do is make the script an onChange with the variable name set to the variable you want to validate.

function onChange(control, oldValue, newValue, isLoading)
{
checkdate(control);
//checkdate(g_form.getControl('start_date'));
function checkdate(objName) {
var datefield = objName;
if (chkdate(objName) == false) {
datefield.select();
alert("That date is invalid.  Please try again.");
datefield.focus();
return false;
}
else {
return true;
   }
}
function chkdate(objName) {
var strDatestyle = "US"; //United States date style
//var strDatestyle = "EU";  //European date style
var strDate;
var strDateArray;
var strDay;
var strMonth;
var strYear;
var intday;
var intMonth;
var intYear;
var booFound = false;
var datefield = objName;
var strSeparatorArray = new Array("-"," ","/",".");
var intElementNr;
var err = 0;
var strMonthArray = new Array(12);
strMonthArray[0] = "Jan";
strMonthArray[1] = "Feb";
strMonthArray[2] = "Mar";
strMonthArray[3] = "Apr";
strMonthArray[4] = "May";
strMonthArray[5] = "Jun";
strMonthArray[6] = "Jul";
strMonthArray[7] = "Aug";
strMonthArray[8] = "Sep";
strMonthArray[9] = "Oct";
strMonthArray[10] = "Nov";
strMonthArray[11] = "Dec";
strDate = datefield.value;
if (strDate.length < 1) {
return true;
}
for (intElementNr = 0; intElementNr < strSeparatorArray.length; intElementNr++) {
if (strDate.indexOf(strSeparatorArray[intElementNr]) != -1) {

Well, I don't know enough to modify this code to make it work with service-now but I think this would be ideal. Check and change format to the correct format.

I started to work on this and I found a wiki entry about adding the onBlur event, but it still isn't working properly. If nothing else, hopefully someone with more javascripting expertise can modify this script to work here.

I'd be interested in this too. I know there is another thread about this, http://community.service-now.com/forum/1264. But it just ref client script wiki page.

anyone?
